I am a marketing and strategic consulting specialist. Originally from Kansas City, MO, I received my B.S. in Business Administration from the School of Business & Industry at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.
After a stint in Boston with the transit authority, I took a position as a Systems Engineer with IBM in Charlotte, NC in 1981, where, for 5 years, I designed and installed business systems, both hardware and software, for small and medium-sized businesses and banks.
For the next 15 years, I held the position of Marketing Representative. One of my endeavors was assisting in the technical rollout of point-of-sale systems for Starbucks Cafe, a new and fast-growing company that at that time, was transitioning from a coffee bean wholesaler to a national coffee house franchise.
I have worked in IT, consulting with business owners in many areas involving large business computers, copiers, printers, enterprise software, and communication systems, to POS systems, to large bank check sorting machines.
In the early 2000s, I started a real estate investment company, which operated successfully, before marrying and moving to Atlanta, GA in 2006. I went back to my “Roots“ providing strategic marketing advice and consulting services for businesses both locally and nationally.
Working with Umbrella Local has allowed me, through my company Advantis Digital Marketing Agency, to extend my long history of and desire to help businesses grow and thrive – ultimately allowing those business owners to improve their business systems, gain new customers, enjoy their families, and positively affect their communities.
My wife and I enjoy playing tennis (she is nationally ranked), and I also enjoy occasionally performing with friends as a musician and arranger.
