About Me

Jim Newcomb’s digital marketing expertise is rooted in a diverse journey. He feels that helping others succeed is the real measure of his success. Jim has a multi-faceted career, but digital marketing is the beacon that consistently drew Jim in. Since the dial-up days, he has been crafting websites and driving online engagement. The launch of a personal development blog during the pandemic was not just a venture into digital communication—it was a lifeline to positive thinking for many. His transition to digital marketing was a deliberate pivot, using his accumulated knowledge to assist businesses in navigating the digital landscape.

Jim Newcomb’s professional odyssey began in the Air Force as an environmental health specialist, laying the groundwork for a diverse career encompassing retail, real estate brokerage with Prudential California Realty, vacation rental management, and inn and retail ownership. This multifaceted background paved the way for his role at Goodwin Recruiting, where he spent over a decade tailoring growth strategies and innovative solutions for businesses, primarily in the hospitality sector, but also outside-the-box placements like a project manager for an upscale boatyard in San Francisco.

Recognized for his contributions, he received the Meritorious Service Medal from the Air Force and multiple accolades from Goodwin Recruiting, including 2016 Partner of the Year.

With eight years of college studies in fields from architecture and political science to marketing and communications, most recently. His educational journey has been as diverse as his professional one, including attending universities in four states.

While he may not hold a degree, his years of education, real-world experience and voracious appetite for learning have been invaluable.

When he’s not engrossed in digital marketing projects, he enjoys contributing to social media communities, especially LinkedIn with over 7,200 followers, over 6,900 connections, and writing more than 120 articles that educate, resonate and motivate.

Volunteering has always been close to his heart, from leading realtor associations to leading and supporting the arts and educational initiatives, including the Idyllwild Arts Foundation, a funding arm of the Idyllwild Arts Academy. He currently provides financial support to local nonprofits and national organizations like St. Jude’s and Tunnels to Towers.

Jim says, “Adaptability and resilience are at the heart of digital marketing, much like they have been throughout my varied career.”
